This policy explains what CaloFitly collects, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it so that it can actually be read. If anything is unclear, write to help@in-medics.pro and we will explain in plain words.
The short version. CaloFitly keeps a food diary. Everything it stores is what you put in it, plus what you allow it to read from Apple Health. There is no advertising, no analytics tracking, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone for marketing. Photos of your meals are not kept: they are sent for recognition and discarded. You can delete everything from inside the app.
CaloFitly is operated by In Medics Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR we are the data controller. Contact: help@in-medics.pro.
| Data | Where it comes from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sex, age, height, weight, goal, activity level, dietary restrictions | You, during setup | To calculate your daily calorie and macronutrient targets |
| Meals, portions, calories and macronutrients; water; workouts; weight history | You, as you use the diary | To keep the diary and show your progress |
| Photographs of meals | Your camera or photo library, when you choose | To recognise the dish and estimate its calories |
| Steps, body weight, workouts | Apple Health, only if you grant access | So you do not have to enter them by hand |
| Email address, or the identifier and email provided by Sign in with Apple | You, if you create an account | To restore your diary on a new device |
| An anonymous identifier assigned by Firebase | Created automatically on first launch | To count free photo recognitions and prevent abuse of our servers |
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers. CaloFitly contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software.
When you photograph a dish, the image is sent to Google's Vertex AI service for recognition and the result is returned to your device. The image is not stored — not by us, and not in our database. It exists only for the duration of the request. Google processes it as our service provider and, under our agreement with them, does not use it to train their models.
If you allow it, CaloFitly reads steps, body weight and workouts from Apple Health. It never writes to Apple Health and never reads any other category — no heart rate, no sleep, no medical records.
These values are placed in your diary. If you are signed in to an account, your diary — including those values — is stored in our cloud database so that it survives a change of phone. This is the only place it goes.
We do not use health data for advertising or marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with data brokers or any third party for their own purposes. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health, or turn syncing off in your profile.
If you do not create an account, everything stays on your device.
If you create an account, your profile and diary are stored using Google Firebase (Firestore database, Authentication, Cloud Functions). Our database is located in the European Union, and our processing servers are in Frankfurt, Germany. Google acts as our processor under their data processing terms. Depending on Google's infrastructure, data may be transferred outside the UK and EU; such transfers rely on the safeguards Google provides, including standard contractual clauses.
Under UK GDPR our legal bases are:
Your diary is kept for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed from our servers immediately, along with your profile, your entries and your generated meal plan. Backup copies are cleared on Google's normal backup cycle. Data stored only on your device disappears when you delete the app.
Open the app, go to Profile → Account → Delete account. This removes your profile, all diary entries, your weight history and your meal plan from our servers, and deletes your login. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the Apple token so the connection between your Apple ID and CaloFitly ends.
If you cannot access the app, write to help@in-medics.pro from the address you registered with and we will delete the account for you.
You have the right to access your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to processing and to withdraw consent. Write to help@in-medics.pro and we will respond within one month.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
CaloFitly is not intended for children. Calorie counting and weight targets are not suitable for people who are still growing, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
CaloFitly estimates. Calorie figures recognised from a photograph are approximations, and the meal plans it generates are suggestions, not prescriptions. Nothing in the app is medical advice. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are recovering from an eating disorder, discuss your diet with a doctor.
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
